The idea behind this is probably,
that the Krawler supplies this data,
but that is only possible on platforms that supply such data,
and even there, a project could be forked of an other,
which is hosted on an other platform,
thus it would not be indicated as a fork.

Therefore it might make sense to allow to manually specify forkOf in the TOML manifest.

agree 👌 and yes, it comes from a time where we thought the Krawler would deliver such information :)
