For the most part, just reporting my experiences. I searched around and didn't find any info but I thought I'd give it a try.

So I tried this with b2 and it seems to work. Files were uploaded, not many errors. I got a few error reading a body from connection: end of file before message length reached (37s 121ms 407us 651ns) on PUT.

This is my first experience with lfs so I'm not entirely sure I did everything right...

One thought, there's now an official aws s3 lfs proxy - I chose this one instead of that because I thought the development might be more amenable to non-aws s3 protocol hosts but I'm not sure if that's a reasonable assumption (it uses rusoto, but that itself appears to be unmaintained atm).
