unable to set v4l2 format: Invalid argument

I am completely stumped by this error. I'm able to connect the webcam to a browser, and I'm able to connect to OBS, but trying to run the webcam demo gives me the shown errors, then a qlua window opens, and it's sticky note yellow.
I'm thinking it's related to droidcam, but that also confuses me, as I'm able to connect to everything else.
