Software Versions

  • Jellyfin Server Version: 10.9.6
  • Roku Client Version: Latest

Describe the bug

When the content requires audio transcoding or remuxing the content will play for a few seconds and then crash back to the library menu. When the content requires transcoding video (due to bitrate limit) the content will play. No log errors or warnings are recorded on Jellyfin server side. I don't know how to collect logs on the Roku side.

How To Reproduce

  1. Play a piece of content that requires audio transcoding or remuxing
  2. Crash after a few seconds
  3. Reduce bitrate to force transcode
  4. Plays correctly

Expected behavior

The content plays correctly

Logs

No log errors are recorded on Jellyfin server

I also have this issue with files that need the audio transcoded.

My setup is:

  • Jellyfin server 10.9.6 (Debian x86_64)
  • Jellyfin Roku 2.0.7
    • Tested on multiple Roku Express 4k+ sticks
    • All connected on local network.
