So it would be nice to have it in DESCRIPTION.

Sure, can you send a PR? I consider bash a standard dependency, like make or gcc or pkg-config, but if it helps we can declare it.

I don't want to deal with the default shell on solaris 10. By using bash, at least we get consistent cross-platform behavior.
