How to move projects from jetty-project to jetty org? #18
Comments
tagging @netomi as you are helping us a lot here. |
Normally we do things like that by asking you to invite the owner of the organization that you want to transfer to (in this case eclipse-jetty-bot) to the original organization that hosts the repo as admin. Then we can transfer it to the new organization. See: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/3855 However, I see from the documentation of GitHub: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/transferring-a-repository that this might not be necessary anymore, you can specify a target organization that you want the repo to transfer to and the owner of the new org has to approve that transfer. So that sounds easier to me. In any case to clarify that, could you open a ticket in the HelpDesk and then we can take care of that? |
ok thanks for testing. For traceability can you create a ticket in the HelpDesk to request the transfer? |
Our default assumption must be we will have to do this through the IP process, not simply moving repositories. We'll have to follow up with the EMO about this before we can actually move anything. I opened this issue a while back and I'll ping on it for some feedback. https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/emo-team/emo/-/issues/607 |
We're having trouble getting notifications configured just right. My apologies for the long delay. I've responded on the issue. |
@netomi ok, we have a bit of housekeeping to do before we can allow eclipse-webmaster or eclipse-jetty-bot to be invited in, but once we are squared away, we'll open an issue in GitLab. |
We'd like to move few projects from jetty-project org to jetty.
But using the move feature from Github (redirect).
How can we do this as we are not admin of the org?
