At the end of the Quickstart guide, the user should be directed to a page about configuring some Jitsi basics (e.g. the brand image from the upper-left corner).

Right now, the next page in the process is the Docker page, but presumably if the user has followed the quickstart guide, they don't want to read about Docker.

Same for the end of the Docker page - the user doesn't want to read about Manual Installation.

Well I don't know how docusaurus exactly works, so maybe it can't be avoided to have the next section linked below.
But if it's possible I agree we should change it.

🤔 Do you have additional configuration ideas? Because for this single case, an additional page might be to much.
Otherwise the users are already let to some details in the pages below, like https://jitsi.github.io/handbook/docs/devops-guide/secure-domain
So we might just add another page and link to it.

Probably not possible, but we could add a manual link to the next logical page in the flow (maybe that config page).

Do you have additional configuration ideas?

I'm very new to Jitsi so these are very initial ideas:

  • Brand image customization
  • Disabling showing the list of past meetings after the current one ends (for privacy) - RECENT_LIST_ENABLED: false in /usr/share/jitsi-meet/interface_config.js? That file should be mentioned.
  • Start meetings with various configurations, e.g. gallery view vs. current speaker, or (I saw someone on the forum ask about this), with/out the film strip (?)
  • Tweak the default bandwidth and CPU settings, depending on the system?
  • The new branding ability?

One thing to list on that basic configuration page would be all the config files, along with an overview of what they're for. I'm finding it surprisingly confusing how to adjust the branding for example.

Some more ideas here.
