Hi!

I've been using Tasker Pro for years and recently used this permission helper to get some further functionality from Tasker. In the beginning of April, I got an Android update and my phone went into bootloop. When I could get to the home screen, airplane mode was on and as soon as I turned it off, the phone froze. I was able to reboot with the side buttons and tried to turn off airplane mode again and had the same issue. I did a factory reset and didn't have any further issues but did not reinstall Helper right away.

Last weekend, I reinstalled Helper and ended up in the same bootloop/data situation. I then realized that it was Helper causing the issue. I completed all the permission buttons in Helper.

I am on a Galaxy S23 Ultra. Please let me know how I can assist and what other info you need to troubleshoot.

Thank you! 😊

Hi. Thanks for the report!

Just so I understand, which permissions did you enable when using the helper?

Thanks again!

I enabled all the permissions available.

Can you please try enabling the permissions one by one? That seems like a bug in the device's ROM, and by doing this, you can determine which permission is causing the issue. :)

Would you be able to help me narrow it down by telling me which permissions affect data? I'd like to apply those permissions last so I can hopefully avoid having to reset my phone again, which also requires me to reset my watch. Thank you!

I really don't know which permission it could be, sorry! :( It's an issue that doesn't occur on other devices and I don't own that device, so I don't know which one it could really be... Wish I could help!

not going to help much, but just set the write secure settings permissions, on an updated s23 - no boot loop,
i'll add more if I need them and test them in the future.
