Switching layouts on linux/x11

My system is configured to switch between languages with Shift + CapsLock.

when using minimal.kbd sample configuration, this keycombo no longer toggle the language. Is there a solution to this?

Kanata sends on a new input device so you likely need to apply said setting to the new device, or restart the component if it auto detects.

reapplying layout with setxkbcomp or xkbcomp doesn't have any effect and they both accept numeric id of device, while i don't see any numeric id being associated with uinput.

nevermind, looks like it almost works. except it stops displaying layout status with scroll-lock indicator.

i found which /dev/input/event* is created by kanata, but when i pass it to setxkbmap/xkbcomp it fails with

The event id won't be the same every time. You can use a symlink path for Kanata via the -s flag or if xkb can detect by name, use that.
