best way to avoid homerow modifier activations on same side ?

hello, i use homerow mods and love them very much. however, one problem i have with them is that sometimes, like when my hands are cold, i set off accidental activations on the same side i'm typing on. does anyone here have a way of not setting off homerow mods when typing with the same hand ?

perhaps i just need raise the hold value in tap-hold cuz mine is set to be 150 which is really fast

i'm curious if anyone has given this topic any thought or has any advice
