JupyterHub at JupyterCon 2025 #788

@KirstieJane

Description

@KirstieJane

Hi folks!

I'm chairing the outreach and engagement committee for JupyterCon 2025 so you're about to see me do lots of outreach to say "hey - do you want to submit a talk / workshop at JupyterCon!?!"

(In fact, you could boost these linkedin and bluesky posts if you'd like to!)

AND - related - what presentations would we like to share from the JupyterHub community?

A few suggestions from me - but PLEASE add more!

  • Voices of JupyterHub presentation - this could either be a submission from Organizational Mycology as they did the work OR from @choldgraf as PI or me as Co-I or [insert other options here!]
  • Binder tutorial / workshop - I haven't been part of delivering a Binder workshop for a long time BUT they were so fun and enjoyable when @sgibson91 originated them with The Turing Way.... maybe worth re-upping? - @sgibson91 - you'd be great for this but I'm not sure if a California trip is on the cards for November? Any other suggested presenters who would like to come?
  • JupyterHub for campus data science education - @ryanlovett? What about you giving that talk? Or nominating someone else 😁
  • @minrk / @consideRatio / @yuvipanda - is there a technical topic that would be fun to cover? Maybe if we have other talks that are hitting a broader audience around community and the users there could also be a talk that's a deep dive into something thorny / new?
  • @maryamv - a JupyterHealth presentation? I think that's already in the works ⚕ ⭐

The most important thing to note here is that 1) if you're a speaker you don't have to pay registration so that's a great reason to get a CfP in, and 2) this is a great opportunity to get a few "calls to action" and invitations to contribute out to an interested audience!

Update on the day of the deadline 😂

Here's a list of our submissions! They're all SO GOOD!

Were there any others? @balajialg - did you submit anything on A11y?

(I'm going to put in one for JupyterBook: Build-a-Jupyter Book with The Turing Way)
