Can Embedded Registry be used to configure an external P2P central node?

I have multiple clusters and want to share a single cache repository. Can I configure an external P2P central node that is not a node of the current cluster for the Embedded Registry? Or are there any relevant development plans in the future?

Current usage scenarios:

1. Multiple clusters across computer rooms share one image cache repository
2. After implementing multi-tenancy for podink3s under k3k, sub-clusters can share the cache repository of the primary cluster

No, we have no plans to an external P2P node. You could try deploying Spegel independently of K3s, but thats not really the point of it.

What your describing: "An external central node that holds my images" is just a private registry. Why don't you deploy something like https://distribution.github.io/distribution/ and configure it as a pull through cache?
