Is it possible to bypass ssl cert verification?

I came across this: - KAFKA_CLUSTERS_0_SSL_VERIFYSSL=false

but when I try this I still see a failure in the logs

kafbat-ui  | Caused by: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Is there a way to get around this?

1. what exactly are you trying to bypass ssl for? brokers, schema registry, kafka connect, sth else?
2. please share the full stacktrace
3. please share the version info, 'latest' is not a valid version

@bodleytunes had the same error today ... it might be that your SSL keystore is missing. You have to add it to your container / helm configuration. If you need working examples for strimzi operator you can have a look here: #1260
