Building on the work of the original designers of Kalapi (from the GujaratiLexicon team), version 2.0 attempts to improve and extend the typeface by updating its design (redesigning letters and producing additional weights) and improving functionality (by developing and maintaining better source files and tool-chain).
Mr Ratilal Chandaria, one of the founders of the Chandaria Foundation, helped fund my research in Gujarati typography when I was a student at the Master of Typeface Design course at the University of Reading, U.K. This is my attempt to give back to the community while honouring the legacy and spirit of Ratikaka.
