Pinpoint

Link anywhere.

Usage

After installing Pinpoint (download and double click on the .safariextz file), Safari will automatically take you to the part of the page the link points to (just like a normal anchor link).

To create your own pins, simply right click on any element on the page, and select "Create Pin" from the menu.

Don't worry, people who don't have Pinpoint installed will still be able to use your pinss; they'll just work like a normal link.

Not Using Safari?

Check out the Pinpoint plugins for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

To Do

  • Improve link shortening support
  • Fix element positioning incorrectly without any hint of why in the box model (Example.
  • Experiment with pins on top of website hashes (support for the terrible hash bang)

Credit Where It's Due

Pinpoint is built on top of the fantastic work on the original Safari extension by Shaun Inman, and the proposal for CSS selectors as fragment identifiers by Simon St.Laurent and Eric Meyer.
