Explanation of Smart Music Titles

Does this feature actually change the scrobble and library data or is it a visual/formatting change only? The reason I ask is that I use the Marvis Pro app and if the artist, album, song data doesn't match my Apple Music library, I won't be able to see the scrobbles.
