Microphone not recognized/starting in version 0.5.3

Describe the bug
After your help with #112, I downloaded version 0.5.3 from your own site. Unfortunately, after installation and replacement of the old version, the hotkey doesn't do anything.
To see if there is a solution, I did the following:

• I disabled permissions for microphone and accessibility in the system settings. After that, I tried to enable them again via the app.
• I could easily enable the permissions for accessibility. However, I couldn't enable them for the microphone via the app, and I had to enable them manually in the system settings.

I had the idea microphone recognition may not work properly. The microphone selection was initially set to “System Default”, but that did not work. I then set it to the MacBook Pro microphone, which also did not work. I also tested the microphone with other apps such as Typeless and Wispr Flow. In those apps, the microphone works immediately.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Download version 0.5.3
2. See if permissions for Microphone and Accessibility are granted
3. Test the hotkey

Also on Sequioa and tried this update to 0.5.3 today and it's not working, but 0.4.0 is working for me for now.

Hey! Really sorry about the hotkey issues on Sequoia 15.7.1. I just released version 0.5.4 that should fix this – the problem was that macOS 15 split the old Accessibility permission into separate Accessibility + Input Monitoring permissions, and Hex wasn't properly handling the new Input Monitoring permission.

I don't have a Sequoia machine to test on myself, so I'd really appreciate it if you could try 0.5.4 and let me know if it works! You can download it from https://hex-updates.s3.amazonaws.com/Hex-0.5.4.dmg

If it still doesn't work, please reopen this issue and I'll dig deeper. Thanks for your patience!

Heya, I just tried that and it's still not working. Hex's Accessibility permission light is green, and looking in MacOS Privacy & Security I can see that Accessibility is enabled, but Input Monitoring has not been requested.

Thanks for your work @kitlangton . I'm on Sequoia 15.6.1 but unfortunately still not working. MacOS doesn't request permission for Microphone. After manual enabling it, the icon in Hex changes to green, but still doesn't work.

i think it was still working until 0.23.x - which i was downloading from another issue here on github. #108 (comment)

but now, since 0.4.x. i cant enable accessibilty anymore -> cant assign an hotkey.

I deployed another version. Hopefully, this one works, but you know, at this point, there's a forty percent chance of it working 🤞.

On 0.5.7 and mac 15.7.1 hotkey for mic not working;( yesterday was version 0.4 and all work good)

Also on Hex 0.5.7 and Sequoia (15.7.1) and keyboard isn't working (but I'm excited to try the new "Modifier side" feature once fixed!)

Note I tried manually adding Hex to the Input Monitoring list with the + button and restarting Hex, but it didn't fix the hotkey.

Right now i try 0.5.10 on 15.7.1 and hot key don't work;(

I'm not sure if anyone here has programming experience and wants to try to debug this locally.

I have no idea what's going on with Sequoia.

If anyone's able to work it out locally and wants to open a pull request, that would be incredible. I've sort of exhausted all of my options at the moment.
