hostpython can't spawn processes, update fails

I am using Buildozer on Linux Mint with OpenJDK 17.

On the latest develop branch of python-for-android, the build of the host Python succeeds, but it can't install any packages, because it was compiled with no ability to spawn processes. It fails when trying to install PatchELF.

Issue can be closed as duplicate of #3021 (comment).

You need patchelf pre installed.

Huh, apparently the latest quickstart.md actually does list patchelf as a requirement, but the docs haven't been rebuilt yet.
