Hello, are these instructions valid for running Stacey on Mac OSX?

http://www.staceyapp.com/tutorials/running-on-osx/

Do I need to activate/start up MAMP? I have a /Sites folder, but I can't see a /webserver folder, any ideas?

Web Sharing is not there as per the tutorial. If you search for how to host a website locally you will get a number of suggestions, but I could not get clean url's to work, so moved to MAMP eventually...

@06nH I don't see what this has to do with my question.

I would like to have a local copy of Stacey running on OSX Yosemite.
To make changes offline and then transfer files via FTP.

Is this possible? If so, how?

The tutorial you referred to is for an older version of Mac OS. Some of what is described in the tutorial does not 1:1 work in Yosemite and newer.

But, yes, it is possible. I ended up using MAMP, but there are other ways of doing it using the command line interface. Just do a search for how to run a web server on your mac.

Does this clarify?

I also recommend you to just use MAMP. It's easy, complete and well maintained.
