possible to run from a .bib file instead of zotero? #43

Thanks for the interest! This is definitely something I would like to support, and the extension was written to enable multiple citation providers so it won't be difficult to implement. Could you describe how you would like it to work in the user interface? Many thanks for your reply and interest.
For me, I keep a master .bib file maintained, but I could imagine the need to specify multiple .bib files.
It would be good to click on the add citation button and have it pop up a search dialog box or a list that you can scroll through. It would also be nice to be able to open the pdf associated with a reference in a “file = “ line in the .bib file.

We could easily have a dialog allowing to input the path relative to the root of JupyterLab, which would require the .bib file to be accessible from the file browser in JupyterLab. Alternatively we could have a setting on the server side which would require manually editing the config file but would not be limited to directories accessible after startup.
Would it always be just one file, or multiple files?

Hi folks, just coming across this extension. I use paperpile as a reference manager. It keeps a .bib file automatically up to date for me. Can I point the citation manager to this .bib file instead of zotero?
