Problem
We need to verify that the RustShare quickstart instructions are accurate and easy to follow on a clean Linux environment before wider community activation.
This is especially important for Public Preview because new visitors may arrive from LinkedIn, X, email, or the Turkish junior IT / open-source community.
If the quickstart is confusing or incomplete, early testers should be able to report exactly where they got stuck.
Proposed Solution alanı:
Ask a contributor to follow the RustShare quickstart steps on a clean Linux machine or VM and report the result in a comment on this issue.
Suggested environments:
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Debian 12
Another clean Linux VM, if documented clearly
Proposed Solution
README.md, Quickstart section.
Expected outcome:
A clear test report showing which quickstart steps worked, which steps failed, and what needs to be improved.
Acceptance criteria:
The report lists the operating system name and version.
The report lists Docker and Docker Compose versions if used.
The report follows the README quickstart steps as written.
Any failed step is documented clearly.
Any missing dependency is documented.
Any error message is shared only if it does not contain secrets or private data.
No passwords, tokens, private URLs, or confidential logs are shared.
Alternatives Considered
Leave the quickstart untested until more users arrive, but that creates unnecessary launch risk and may cause repeated setup questions during Public Preview.
Additional Context
This is a non-coding good first issue. It is useful for junior contributors, Linux learners, and first-time open-source contributors who want to help by testing documentation and setup instructions.
Please comment before starting if you want to claim this issue.
