Since switching to CARTO Dark Matter tiles (#831, v0.7.0), the map has become hard to read for our members of the MeshRheinland community. In v0.6.3 a grayscale filter (grayscale/invert/brightness) provided sufficient contrast; since the tile swap this filter was removed entirely, so node markers, labels, and road outlines blend into the near-black background.
Comparison (0.6.3 right, 0.7.x left):
Expected behavior: Map with adequate contrast between tiles, labels, and node markers, similar to v0.6.3.
Suggestion: Reintroduce a brightness/contrast filter on the CARTO tiles, or test alternative tile opacity/filter values suited to the new basemap.
