In particular on the tundra missions the white text can sometimes be hard to 
read. How about a slightly darker "overlay" for the top part of the screen, 
that would help the text to stand out better. Maybe a nice gradient :)

Not very important, certainly, but with the possible addition of a "console" 
that shows information, it might become important that the user can read it.

'bitmap font' has support for text outlines. Xeno is just interpreting the text 
as alpha instead of RGBA. Very fixable.

Great, I think that would improve readability in other places too, plus 
increase the possibilities of having a cool looking font :)

How would you go about changing the color of the font if it was RGBA though? 
Not that colored text used very extensively in the game...

Not so much colored text, as "white text with a black outline". Much easier to 
read, for a bigger font.
