Update 90-day blog post #1214

And it may be that "Why 90 days" should be a documentation thing rather than a blog thing? It's not always clear to me which kind of information to find in a blog post vs. in the documentation. |
Maybe all blog post older than - for example - one year could had a warning on top with a message like

I don't view blog posts as documentation - they are communication from a point in time. I don't usually advocate for modifying them substantively unless there is an unusually good reason. I do go back and fix broken links and things like that sometimes. I would be OK with adding a "this is out of date" warning at the top if it's helpful. |
I don't know as I was thinking of updating the existing post, so much as it'd be helpful to have a newer "official" type page to point people to, as to why 90-day certs (or shorter) are what Let's Encrypt offers and why the industry is moving toward shorter certificates. The disadvantages are clearer to many server operators than the advantages are. |
petercooperjr on the forum pointed out that this blog post is quite dated now: https://letsencrypt.org/2015/11/09/why-90-days.html
