Onboard interested volunteer developers #103

Description

@hugolpz

This is part of current efforts to bring SignIt to a reactive and healthy maintenance level.

GSoC24

SignIt codebase is unstable for the duration of the GSoC24 (2024/06-08) due to Kabir and myself actively working on it.

During GSoC24, @kabir-afk (and @hugolpz) are doing the heavy lifting to bring SignIt from a dead end Manifest v2, toward the Chrome-store-required, stable, maintainable Manifest v3 codebase.

Fall 2024

Afterwhat, we may still need to fix or add modest features before the planned Fall 2024 publication of the extension. Toward this aim we would like to distribute good first issues, which are useful tickets of modest workloads, among a hand of volunteers who expressed interest to do code on SignIt. Our idea is to onboard those new developers, sharing know how on coding this click-to-translate web extension. This diversification would also allows SignIt to avoid the largest threat on open source projects, the curse of the single overly involved open source developer under unhealthy pressure.

Good first issues to distribute

Guideline

When GSoC24 is closed, around August '24, feel free to signal your interest toward one good first issue. Volunteer developers with experience on SignIt will mentor t ease your dive in.
