Currently, building:colour, roof:colour etc only match a few html colour names, it'd be good to handle hex codes too.

an existing dataset mapping blocks to colours is here:
https://github.com/bjornhenriksson/minecraft-colors/blob/main/src/assets/colors.json
(made for https://bjornhenriksson.github.io/minecraft-colors/)

I think you can use only concrete blocks of various colors as wall colors.
information is available on the website, just 16 colors
https://minecraft.fandom.com/ru/wiki/%D0%91%D0%B5%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BD

So far, only gray blocks can be used for the roof. As well as an idea, you can update the program to assign color tags to houses and roofs via the OSM API using visual information from maps, you can also use the Google Maps API to view streets and assign color tags to houses automatically based on AI or algorithms.

you could us something like a UV map. This is what BlockBlender uses to convert colors of mesh to blocks in blender

Great ideas! Also I think the concrete blocks are a good option which will look great. Haven't really catched up with all the updates in Minecraft since ~1.8, so this never really came to my mind haha!
I will look into this soon! :)
