Not cool #146

Hey @Andrew-web-coder. You seem to be having a bad day. I hope your week since this message has been better :) The creator is listing Fancybox in the very first sentence at the very top of the page, seen here: https://vue-cool-lightbox.lucaspulliese.com/ This is a public forum and talking calmly and nicely to people is always a better way forwards. Best of luck |
The problem is that I saw one page with this script and thought Fancybox was being used. But it worked so horribly that I wondered what the problem is with Fancybox. As it turned out, it wasn't Fancybox, but something else, and someone had simply stolen the design. Not only is this misleading, but the creator of this script didn't thank the original author, but the people who worked on this terribly working script. Anyway, thank goodness fancybox 5 works so well and has a wonderful new design. I hope it doesn't get stolen again. |
Hi Andrew,
The creator has thanked FancyBox, and linked to them, both on the v1 and v2
page, as the very first thing.
I agree that it is unfortunate that this setup didn't work for you, and
luckily in the world of FOSS, you're welcome to try another solution or
package.
I am glad it worked out for you in the end, best of luck ahead!

So, the spirit of FOSS is to steal others work and define it as inspiration??? |
Nothing was stolen.
I get that you're not a fan of this package here, so it's fine to leave and use something else :)
Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Hi guys! First of all, thank you @JapSeyz for being so kind and understanding the purpose of someone who just wants to help the community. @Andrew-web-coder I understand that you feel like I've stolen Fancybox's idea, but I want to assure you that was not my intention. I made sure to give to Fancybox credit and acknowledge when I shared it with others. When I started this package Fancybox had jQuery as dependency, which I didn't want to add it to my projects, and I thought that was a good idea to create my own package (based on Fancybox, which I love it) without any dependency. The idea was always to help, not to become a millionaire with a package, so I spent time and energy doing it. I think it's a good time to archive the repository since I don't have time to maintain it, Vue 3 is out and I think this package it's getting out of date. I hope you have a good weekend guys! |
So you stole Fancybox's idea and design and didn't even thank it? Not cool, not cool at all. Also, your script works very poorly compared to the Fancybox. Not to mention that the latest Fancybox 5 is much better in terms of usability and design.
