There are a lot of things I don't quite understand about the problem. Understand them:

  • Why reducers with smaller sign/lead ratio takes precedence over equal? When they are equal, why the S-pair is eliminated as singular top reduced?
  • Corollary 5 implies that all singular top reductions are eliminated by singular criterion, then why I have to assume they happen during reduction?
  • What is a singular signature? The term is used without definition in the paper.

In fact, I should understand all the theorems of the paper.
