As someone who has been assigned a placeholder badge, I'd like to be able to say "I'm not coming" without actually talking to anyone

What I'd like:
A button/link to click, declining this PH badge.

What I get:
The ability to fill out info for my badge. Apparently, I have to send e-mail like a plebe if I don't want to be bothered repeatedly about this badge I don't need.

This feature already exists. The problem you're likely running into is that your badge is comped, and thus you cannot abandon it.

Changing this would require a pretty thorough review of what badges should be abandonable and what should require an email.
