Sometime between edge-night approval and sending out room assignments, we should send out an email letting people know if their requests for load-in or load-out nights have been approved or denied. It would solve a lot of the problems we're having this year (roughly 10% of our assignments) if we could point to an email and say "We notified you that your request was denied, eat shit."

Text of email would ideally be:

"[Name],

Thanks for volunteering at this year's MAGFest! We're sending you this email to confirm your crash space request, and to keep you up to date on your edge-night approval status.

If the nights match up with your request, you've been approved! If not, your request for one of our edge-nights (Tues., Wed., Sun., etc...) has been denied by one of your department heads. If you believe this to be in error, please let us know so we can see what we can do.

Make sure that these nights match up with your requested roommates'! STOPS prioritized room nights over roommate requests, which is the leading cause of not getting your requested roommates.

If we don't hear back from you, we'll assume the nights listed below are good, and will make your assignments accordingly.

[Nights approved]
(Can we also list nights requested, or is that changed when we do department approvals?)

Thanks,
Staffing Operations
