Is there an existing issue for this?

Summary

When creating a sub-issue with the button "Add sub-issue" the new issue's project should default to the current one.

Why should this be worked on?

Most of the time a sub-issue should live in the same project as its parent, defaulting to a random project results in issues in the wrong project.

Hi @remilapeyre Our current implementation do defaults the "Create Sub-Issue" modal to the same project as the parent issue. We're unable to replicate the issue on our end. Could you please share a screenshot or a recording of the issue you're encountering? This will help us debug the problem more effectively.

Hello @pushya22, the behavior is correct when creating the sub-issue from a project but it is wrong when you do it from the "All issues" tab.
