Flashed nRF52840 MDK USB Dongle with RCP firmware, now unable to enter programming mode?

I flashed the nRF52840 MDK USB Dongle with a .uf2 RCP firmware according to the recipe found here:

It seems that the nRF52840 MDK USB Dongle is recognized as a RCP and OpenThreadBorder Router works ok'ish, but I'm not able to successfully pair a Matter over Thread device to it. Not sure what is causing that issue.

But, is it expected that you are not able to enter the UF2 programming mode again after flashing RCP .uf2image to it?
