Pinephone Pro microphone is too soft; has whine over it

I'm noticing in both the settings app and pavucontrol that the microphone is too soft, even at full volume. If I use the sound recorder app, I can confirm it's too quiet and has a whine over the recording. If I attempt to test the phone call audio quality, I can just barely hear it at all.
