serve all assets through a WordPress endpoint

Problem: some webservers disable access to non-standard directories (eg, the Matomo plugins directory), which causes JavaScript to fail to load and probably leads to churn.

Solution: by default, route all requests to load frontend JS through a WordPress specific endpoint like admin-ajax.php or something else.
