It will be cool if we can configure different server by user, like we can configure the room.

In my company, we have a lot of base url like this :

https://meetingsemea19.webex.com/meet/XXXXX
https://meetingsemea21.webex.com/meet/XXXXX

@levb and @cpoile, what do y'all think about opening this for Up For Grabs?

@jfrerich Sure, that would work. We would need some UX work to define the behavior.

@SantiniFlavio If you could answer a few questions to help us understand the use case, that would help us flesh this out and get work started on it:

  1. How many servers do you have?
  2. How are users assigned to servers? (Is it random? Based on location, username, etc.?)
  3. Could you give us an example of how you would set the server?
  4. Is it done by each user individually by themselves?
  5. And/Or is there a 'manager' of some kind who would want to be able to set each user's server?
  6. Would you find it more useful to have a few set servers, and then assign users to use those servers?
  7. Or is there another way you would want to do this?

I am not entirely familiar with how this works, but I'd envision a /webex preferences server command that sets the server for meeting notifications from this user. Everything else seems like it can be added later, once the basic preference and its storage are added and implemented?

@jfrerich I am not sure why this was not an Up For Grabs, maybe it was an accidental click that removed the label? Going to put it back in now.

  1. How many servers do you have?

I don't know exactly, at this time, 4 or 5
It's not our servers. We don't have licences for all users. So, users without licence are attached to webex servers by webex itself.

  1. How are users assigned to servers? (Is it random? Based on location, username, etc.?)

Randomly

  1. Could you give us an example of how you would set the server?

In the same way that we set the username
For example : webex server meetingsemea19.webex.com

  1. Is it done by each user individually by themselves?

Yes

  1. And/Or is there a 'manager' of some kind who would want to be able to set each user's server?

Not necessary

  1. Would you find it more useful to have a few set servers, and then assign users to use those servers?

No

  1. Or is there another way you would want to do this?

No
