No matter What version I download for the M1 Mac it continually says the file is damaged or broken.

This could be because M1 macs require arm apps to be code-signed and I am not paying apple $99 a year to be able to do that. Try running the intel version and see if the error message is different.

Yup the intel one went through just fine.

I used this command on the terminal to fix that issue

xattr -c /path/to/the/archive

I've also seen other people sign their apps with something like a "generic sign" and when you try to open them they just say "coming from an unknown developer" but I don't know how they accomplish that.
