@thorgin interesting, I agree this could be useful. Will see if we can get something on the roadmap for this (cc @justinfar any opinion on this?) |

Haven't really given any thought to duplication if I'm being quite honest, but your use case makes sense @thorgin Defo something we can do down the line since we're planning to make some updates to bulk transaction editing at some point soon |

I have various cases where it would be very helpful if the workflow was "getting out of my way" and let me quickly duplicate a transaction. For example: recurring server costs, income, a customer paid, a gas station transaction ... actually almost anything that happens more than once a year. Depending on the item, i wouldn't even need to alter the transaction (for example if the servercost stays the same and happened on the current date). I actually don't like the idea to have to do this in the side menu as this also gets "in my way". There already is the quickaction menu when a transaction was selected. Why not use it and add a copy action there? Of course priority may shift if we assume that the user connects to something like GoCardless anyway, but at least I wont do that. Not for all accounts at least... for example, for privacy reasons, I don't see myself routing customers on my business bankaccount through such a 3rdparty. And every few days doing a CSV import isn't that fun either. (this could bring up a finTS argument, but modern banks already don't support that anymore) ... okey, i am rambling again sorry xD |

Describe the feature
Have an option in the edit transaction window to create a duplication of the selected transaction. After the option is selection a new window will populate with all the info of the transaction already populated in the new transaction so one can change the date and or any values within the new transaction.
Why is this feature important?
This is a valuable option, because it reduces the time spent adding transactions and reduces the chances of creating errors. When one is adding multiple transaction of the same category you only have to edit a few options in the windows instead of entering all of them multiple times.
For example, say you go to a fair and buy snack and food from multiple vendors in one day. It would be nice to just create one transaction and then copy it and just change the spent amount. Again reducing time spent inputting and reducing the chances of inputting errors.
