Azure FHIR converter

I have a few questions about FHIR converter:

1. How to secure the endpoints so it safe to call them from an external source.
2. For JSON to FHIR conversions, how to define the custom liquid templates without giving developers broader access to the resources?
3. How are conversion errors handled and reported? Are they propagated to a caller with all details?
4. What are the advantages of using FHIR converter vs. doing a transformation as part of an APIM policy which also allow custom liquid templates (such as set-body)
