Update fail, uninstall/reinstall fail #36510
Comments
Same problem here. Unable to to install new version as uninstall of the old version fails. |
@chrishs87 , to get the MSI, can you please check https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/install#extracting-the-msi-from-the-bundle |
Hi @mj34hig44 , If you try to install from one of the installers in https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases , do you get any UI error? /needinfo |
Hi @jaimecbernardo "Deleted references to Powertoys in C:, attempted install again, it did and got the message to bug report. Haven't run program yet." The app runs as expected now it seems. I read probably here it's best to have all machines on my network use the same program either the Store version or the Github installer, I was having some issues a few versions ago when one was the Store version ant the other the installer so I changed them both to Store after reading that would be preferred. I need mainly Mouse Without Borders to control my headless server so I really can't troubleshoot the program at will. I do use Power Rename & Image Resizer as well, love these components as well as MWB. |
Thank you. I was able to uninstall the old version and install the new version after extracting the msi. |
