Unable to initiate C2D Monitor

Not sure if this is a real issue or something wrong I'm doing, but it seems I cannot initiate a C2D Monitor job. After I right-click on one of my devices and select "Start Receiving C2D Message" nothing appears on the "Azure IoT Hub" Output. And when I click to stop receiving C2D Message, a "No C2D Monitor job running." message is printed.

How can I investigate further what the problem is?

I'm using version v. 2.17.1 and VS Code v. 1.96.0
