Show image preview on hover in the Explorer sidebar #270270

Description

@gerritvisserNL

I’d love to have the ability to preview image files by hovering over them in the Explorer (sidebar).
This feature would make it much easier to browse assets like logos, icons, and screenshots without having to open each file manually.

Similar functionality exists for image paths in code (via hover preview), but not for images directly in the file explorer.
Ideally, hovering over logo.png in the sidebar would show a small thumbnail preview near the cursor.

Why it's useful:
Saves time when working with many image assets.

Reduces clicks and context switches.

Makes VS Code more visual-asset friendly (useful for web developers, designers, and frontend devs).
