I get the exact same issue running v1.20.62 MC version.
linux MC launcher version v0.13.0-macOS-x86_64-0.2.459(build 459)

I am on a M2 Mac mini 8GB ram 256 SSD, macOS Sonoma 14.3.1

I also see a bunch of random LAN worlds which are originating from the Linux MC launcher.

I dont know what these are.
they appear for a few seconds and go away
very suspicious
image

Multiplayer is completely bugged, nobody can join my game, and I can't join anybody else's.
if I try to join someones world with many attempts the game straightt up crashes on my end.

I will upload screenshots and error log as soon as possible

Shure this is known, see

https://github.com/minecraft-linux/macos-builder/releases/tag/v0.13.0-459

Releases mentions it is unavailable.

The glitch of features servers in the friends tab has also been noticed by me. However lan discovery is somewhat broken in the macOS port for months

With a bit of work on your side you can switch to https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock for hosting your world and it will work by filling in the ip + port of the server on all devices.

Nintendo switch requires dns spoofing to replace a featured server or similar.

In my point of view is the feature you like to use too unstable for work reliable and not worth to fix.
As a fix only works for a couple of months.

I understand, makes sense.

Please try the nightly, I expect it should make it possible to connect. Althought it's buggy and might not be fully connected to xbox live at the first try

it's as easy as getting a "Nightly" here : https://github.com/minecraft-linux/mcpelauncher-manifest#nightly-prebuilds
