Appalachia map

Hi, Appalachia map isn't read by ASV. No datas.

No map is automatically supported by ASV and I have to manually install and work out the co-ords for each request.

What version of ARK? Evolved or Ascended?

Ohh, a paid mod map.

Guess I'm not going to be adding support for that unless somebody who owns it can work out some co-ords for me to calculate what's required?

Here's what I do using cheat commands:

1. GCM - so I can fly high enough to miss any terrain when teleporting for center location.
2. CCC - to get the Z location after flying high enough to avoid any mountains etc.
3. SetPlayerPos 0 0 Z - where Z is the number copied from CCC command.
4. Make note of the GPS co-ords. 99% of the time this is 50/50 but sometimes not, and the number is needed for later calculations.
5. Fly around the map trying to pick out a spot in each corner. For each location make note of the in-game GPS co-ords and use CCC command to get map co-ords to match.

I need the GPS co-ords at center of the map. These are the LatShift and LonShift variables.

Then for each of the gps/ccc paired co-ordinates you provide I add them into a spreadsheet which uses the following calculation:

Calculated Latitude = LatShift + ( CCC.X / LatDiv )
Calculated Longitude = LonShift + ( CCC.Y / LonDiv )

... not very scientific and probably a nice easy formula to work it out but I then play around with the LatDiv/LonDiv using previous maps as a starting point until the calculated GPS co-ords on my spreadsheet closely match them provided in-game.

These values are then added to maps.json so ASV knows how to calculate where things are.

I modified my maps.json file to successfully load appalachia savegame. Thanks.
But I haven't been able to determine the ratio for this map.

No problem. FYI this is how I determine the required information to map out a new maps co-ordinates:

1. Open console and enable creative mode:

• Cheat GCM

2. Fly high and use the console again to determine the in-game co-ordinates:

• CCC

This will copy your current player co-ords onto the clipboard. Paste these into notepad or something similar to determine the Z or height value. For example using 117605 454705 19683 -108.63 6.50

3. Determine the GPS coordinates when at absolute 0 using the following command:

• Cheat SetPlayerPos 0 0 19683

4. View the in-game map to see current GPS co-ordinates - these are the base co-ordines used for Lat/Lon Offset:

5. Amend the Lat/Lon divisors until the calculated Lat/Lon matches the noted in-game Lat/Lon for each location:

6. Calculated Latitude = Lat Shift + (Y1 / Lat Div), Calculated Longitude = Lon Shift + (X1 / Lon Div)
