Same issue. I can connect via the world downloader with localhost but it never recognizes that I have connected and never starts downloading.

I have the same issues i am on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS i tried to compile this pull request and that one seems to work #706

I managed compile the commit #706 and it works on the surface but not saving region files only map images and data files. Hope anybody going to work on it, would be really nice to have it on 1.21.3 :)
