Questions about "World Settings Generator"

I have some questions about the "World Settings Generator" [ https://misode.github.io/world/ ]

This generator allows to define a World and its Dimensions, Seed, etc.
and saves it as a JSON file to the result DataPack under path:
/data/[my-namespace]/world/[my-world].json

From what I know (mainly from MC-Wiki) there is no such a subfolder in DataPack files' structure:
/data/[my-namespace]/world/

So the questions are following:

• Is this a custom invention/idea of the author to store world settings in a DataPack ?
• May the JSON file be read by the game automatically when the DataPack is selected while the world creation process ?
• Or: anyway the JSON file must be extracted and imported manually while the world creation process ?
• So, maybe was it done for a convenience only, to keep world settings together with other settings in the DataPack ?
