It would be easier to keep behaviours consistent for debugging/reliability purposes if the root folder directory stays consistent by, for example, storing it in .cache.
This is so that problems like #139 (comment) are easier to avoid and debug.
The reviewer should still be able to easily access the root directory (but, ideally, shouldn't need to).
