Vangree Model V02001 (from amazon) doesn't work

So uhubctl thinks this is supported, but it does not work.
It correctly detects what's there, but the power commands do nothing.
Vangree V02001 is a 17-port device that supports USB 3.2. It has problems with device removal (at least on FreeBSD, where I'm running.

but there's an external power supply.

Oh, and I have to press the power button to get devices to be recognized. So I'm a bit disappointed, but I can return it to Amazon and try other models. I know it wasn't listed on the compatible page, but I was greedy since I'm buying this to test about 50 USB drives against FreeBSD's umass driver since I've been making changes to it lately and somehow stumbled into this library of devices. I'd love to use uhubctl to power these on one at a time, and see if it still works. So fewer hubs would work better... But working trumps convenience.

I'm unsure if I should report this, but if I read README.md correctly, you do want to know since it's vendor/device numbers match other supported devices. Please accept my apologies if this isn't what you want (and I'll not do it again :).

I like FreeBSD, but I guess it is considered quite obscure by today's standards.

Because of this, I would check if this hub perhaps might work on other OS: Linux or macOS. Not to say this would change USB hub hardware behavior, but just to eliminate possible issues with FreeBSD USB stack.

That said, in general I'm not interested to know about hubs which don't support VBUS control - because vast majority don't. It would be futile attempt to track every single USB hub out there. Instead, we want to know which hubs do work, and keep them in compatibility table.

Good news that over time more and more new hubs actually start supporting per port power switching correctly. As far as I know, any hub with USB C ports must support it per USB 3.2 specification.
