What i would like to see on this app as features :)

Hi, first of all i want to say congratz, nice, simple to use and user friendly app you have built.
Please see below the features which i will like to see on this app:

• Categories (also let users suggest new categories)
• Display popular tags this week, month or year
• Let global feed be visible for visitors but restrict profile view and the other actions like follow, like etc.
• Create lists for saved/ liked posts
• Filer posts by: category, popular, fresh, etc
• think for a new idea, feature like coub.com mix videos and sounds or something similar to make a difference :)

Some of those ideas are already planned.

• Could you elaborate more on what would be "categories"? Is it similar to Add user interests for follow recommendation #19?

• I added tags recently and I need to finish them Trending hashtags #56

• About restrictions on profile visibility, follow, like... I've been thinking a lot about this as this has been highly requested, but it's a difficult one as it may degrade performance, but I have a couple of ideas Profile privacy settings #57

• There is a plan to add bookmarks but sure we can also have a liked posts list Bookmarks #20

• Search needs a lot of work for sure Improve search #58

• At the start I was against this sort of things, cause I wanted to keep it simple: just text (there is also the associated money cost to host media 👀 ). Nakama doesn't even allow uploading images on a post. But hey, now I want to add image uploading to the posts. But the sorts of video and audio is another step up; for sure is what you expect to see on social media these days. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback and we will see how this evolves.

Regarding the hosting, have you checked https://www.deta.sh? its free :)

For sure there are a lot of free hosting options. But they all have limits, and pushing media like videos would quickly fill up your free quota.

Right now nakama is hosted at upcloud.com on the smaller machine which is $5 and with an additional storage plan wich is $10 where I store avatars, covers, and I plan to store post images soon too.
I'll see how much space post images consume and learn about it and see if I can push it further with more media types :=)
