For anyone else that faces this issue, it's quite possible that your chip might be fake (happened to me with a GY-91 board), and instead of having an MPU-9250, you have an MPU-6500 which does not have the magnetometer. (Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/ydx5zi/gy91_with_mpu6500_instead_the_mpu9250_any_other/)
