Is it intended that creating a new profile makes it active right away?

Noticed that when I create a new profile by copying the current one, it instantly becomes active. Is this the intended behaviour, or could it be a bug? Does it make sense to make this configurable in CLI and TUI? I don't like it – wanna decide myself when my new profile gets activated :)

Scenario:

• Profile A is active
• Create new Profile B via "copy from current"
• App switches straight to B instead of sticking with A
